Born in Potenza in 1962 and then he lived
in Genzano
di Lucania (PZ), Italy.
His experience of being a
"poor" student who managed to get professional results only
after great sacrifices of both him and his family, has been
determinant during his life.
Like Orazio
Flacco, an intellectual from Lucania who was the fírst
historical emigranti, Francesco Falanga feels condemned to put up
with the cultural disorganization of Lucania.
The "Lucania
question", like the whole "South question", is still
actual.
The purpose is not hiding behind nostalgic
memories,
but rather spreading and and making other people know
music.
The flute and the piccolo that Francesco Falanga
actually plays are the products of years of personal research and
studies during which he worked at the instument
mechanism and tuning,
and that improved sensibly
the sound and its tuning.
This is another evidence of his
personality that, right because of his simple and modest
origins,
has become strong and determined.
